Challenge
The challenge was to design an email service that was more modern and more like a messaging app than a standard email provider. From my research, I discovered that only 40% of people feel the need to use their email for even 30 minutes in a workday. The goal is to make an email service that users will view to be integral for their work.
Role
I was responsible for designing a product that mirrors a chat app. I collected information that would be necessary for the project while also speaking to people about their experience with email and how important a role it plays in their lives.

Impact

01 Getting to Inbox Zero
To improve the chances that the user will get to inbox zero, a clean layout is used, and unanswered messages are prioritized. This makes using the app more manageable, and that results in more people being willing to use the product.

02 Improved Organization
Every email provider can sort emails into folders, but that can lead to messages being forgotten. That is why I chose a tagging system that allowed users to tag messages meaningfully to be used in filtering.
